2010: The Year.....What?

In 1984, my friend Tom and I went to see the movie 2010: Odyssey Two. The subtitle for that movie was "The Year We Make Contact."

Well, it's now 2010 for real. What's going to happen? Will Jupiter be engulfed by monoliths? Will Gort & Klaatu arrive on the White House lawn?

In May I will hit 45; think I will have my mid-life crisis then. I didn't have one when I turned 40, so 45 seems a good time to swing it. Put the Rolling Rock in to chill and watch out!

At the end of August, Steef and I will celebrate our third anniversary. The very next day, he will become my longest LTR. I'm anticipating that day more than the anniversary, in many ways. After the 3 and a half years mark, I won't be worried about 'durations' any more. At Year 4, I'm pretty sure I will have forgotten all about all those other what's-his-names.
