This morning I needed to pore over a student's poorly xeroxed transcripts. The print was smeary and extremely tiny. I was not sure how I would be able to read it and find the information I was seeking.
I suddenly remembered that at my office's health fair last year, a booth promoting vision health (or vision insurance, I can't remember which) was passing out a small kit that included a screwdriver for repairing glasses and...a magnifying lens!
Quickly turning to my Drawer Of Random Stuff, I rummaged around and came up trumps. I pulled out the lens and was able to read the transcripts...I'm sure I was a sight, hunched over a piece of paper squinting through a magnifying lens no bigger than a quarter (really).
Another day saved.
