Saturday/Sunday Adventures

Not too much going this weekend.

Had a very nice conversation with Pgy at the bookstore about depression; we talked about various forms and medication (she's taking it, I am not). Then we had a discussion about Dan Brown's book The DaVinci Code. It came up as I had suggested earlier it to a customer who then had a minor wig-out about it. It's fiction, people! We also agreed that a person has to be pretty insecure in their own beliefs if they think this one book can bring down a major world religion just like that.

Later had dinner with M&M and their friends M&C&H at the Olive Garden. It was nice. I had my usual Chicken Alfredo, which was good, but didn't seem hot enough. It was as if it cooled off too quickly after I started eating it.

Tonight Mom told me that my ex-bro-in-law had gotten re-married. She said that my sister's son (my nephew) told her (my sister). Bro-in-law couldn't be bothered to tell her? He really has distanced himself from our family once the divorce finalized. It's sad; but I am happy for him. Will have to call my sister to get more details (if she knows any).

Finished another book off my "To Read" shelf. Go me. Child Of My Right Hand by Eric Goodman. It was pretty good. Pretty soon I will get to the book M&M gave me for my birthday...last year!

Took a quick drive this early evening downtown to find Open Book/The Loft for my class on Tuesday. I really hate driving in downtown Mpls, so I thought some reconaissance would help prevent any possible getting lost. Also scoped out the parking situation (which will be a hassle, no surprise, but at least I am forewarned).
